Picture Tag

Alyson tagged me for this fun activity, but this picture is actually NOT from my computer so I'm not really counting this. The idea is to select the 4th picture from the 4th folder in your My Pictures folder. Since I'm on vacation in Oregon this week I followed those requirements on Candleman's laptop - just to see if we pick the same picture or not. I wonder if it's like two people following the same recipe and coming up with something completely different.

So we'll see what picture Candleman posts when he does this tag . . .

I'm sorry to say that I did not crop the picture, but it's late and I'm in a hotel room and I'm not that familiar with Candleman's computer.

Some of my siblings may recognize the hotel as a place you stayed in 2002. It's the Best Western in Lakeview, OR. The little building on the right that looks like a gas station without pumps is the fabulous Mexican restaurant where Mom, Candleman and I ate dinner. Candleman said it was the best Mexican food he has ever eaten. He can't wait for a free weekend when he and my brother can zip up there and return home. I told him that would be one very expensive dinner! Seriously, the food was great.

Mmm, I love Mexican food. Can I go with dad and Steve when they zip up there for a weekend?

So was this picture from this trip or from the 2002 trip?

I enjoy Mexican food, but I'm pretty sure I'd never take a long trip anywhere just for it. Indian food, yes. Sushi, yes (though thankfully I don't have to any more). Pastries or chocolates, yes. Cheese, yes. Mexican food, no. :)

Alyson - Yes, this trip. Just a few days ago and sadly, tomorrow we start our way down the Columbia River Gorge and home again. I'm not quite ready for it to end.

Julie, you may want to read my disappointing post on "The Folks Aren't Home" blog. It had to do with my quest for a perfect chocolate mint trufle.

Whoops! That post about chocolate is on this blog. Silly me. I was a bit tired when I posted last night. Seems like I'm not doing much better tonight - posting my comment twice!

I remember the motel in Lakeview and this doesn't look at all familiar. I was probably asleep when we drove in. We didn't eat at the Mexican restaurant, though. Of course, it was just after my surgery so maybe I whined for bland food. Rats.

Julie, I want to go for the trip mostly, but I do love good Mexican food...although I would probably head the other direction if good Mexican food was my goal. :)
